  • Introduction to Dyeing Day March 2018 (March 2018)
    Come and spend the day playing with colour!
    This workshop gives you an opportunity to explore three different acid dyeing techniques on a selection of popular Yarns From The Plain yarn bases. After experimenting with different techniques early on in the day, you will be able to dye up a 50g skein in your very own colourway. There will be an opportunity to purchase further skeins to dye if you wish.

    Refreshments are included but please bring your own lunch.

    Please wear old clothing and bring an apron.

    The Scout Hall is on the corner of Church Street and Well Lane. There is some street parking on Well Lane, but there is also ample parking just up the road outside St Mary's Church.

    Shetland wool is fine, soft and silky to the touch, averaging 29-31 microns, with a good bulky down characteristic. It has n average staple length of 90 mm.

    Crocus Watercolour is a one of a kind colourway and cannot be repeated. One end is predominantly violet with areas of the natural fibre shining through, whilst the other end is predominantly Jade..
